What Is Veterinary Imaging?
Veterinary imaging gives our team a detailed look at what’s happening inside your pet’s body—without surgery or invasive procedures. It’s one of the most valuable tools we have for diagnosing illness, assessing injury, and guiding treatment decisions, especially ahead of surgical procedures.
When your pet is in pain, acting unusually, or showing symptoms we can’t fully explain through a physical wellness exam alone, imaging is often the next step toward answers.
Our Pet Imaging Services
Digital X-Ray with Radiologist Review
Digital radiography allows us to quickly obtain detailed images of your pet’s bones, chest, and abdomen with minimal stress. All X-rays are performed in-house, and when needed, we can have them reviewed by a veterinary radiologist for an added level of specialist insight.
Dental radiographs are also taken with every professional dental cleaning to give us a more complete picture of your pet’s oral health. Because much of each tooth lies below the gumline, these images help us identify problems involving the tooth roots, surrounding bone, and other areas that cannot be fully evaluated by visual examination alone. This allows us to diagnose dental disease more accurately and plan treatment with your pet’s comfort and long-term oral health in mind.
Mobile CT by Appointment
For cases requiring cross-sectional imaging, we coordinate mobile CT appointments at our facility. CT scanning provides detailed, three-dimensional views of internal structures and is particularly valuable for complex surgical planning and advanced cancer staging.
In-House Ultrasound
Ultrasound allows us to evaluate soft tissue structures that X-rays can't fully capture—including the heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, and gastrointestinal tract. We offer in-house ultrasound for dogs and cats, and mobile radiologist appointments are available when a specialist's eye is needed for more complex cases.
When Does My Pet Need Imaging?
Veterinary imaging may be recommended when your pet is experiencing:
- Unexplained pain, limping, or difficulty moving
- Respiratory symptoms such as coughing or labored breathing
- Digestive issues including vomiting, bloating, or suspected foreign body ingestion
- Urinary symptoms or suspected bladder stones
- Abdominal swelling or masses
- Trauma from an accident or fall
- Pre-surgical planning or post-surgical monitoring
- Ongoing monitoring of a known condition
- Cancer diagnosis and screening
