The euthanasia process involves an injection of a sedative followed by a second medication that gently stops the heart. It is peaceful and painless. Most pets pass within moments, often while being held or touched by the people who love them most.

Can I be present during euthanasia?

Yes. We encourage you to be present if you feel able to—many families find it comforting to hold or touch their pet during the procedure. If you prefer to say goodbye beforehand and step out, that is equally valid. There is no right or wrong way to handle this.

Can I bring family members or children?

Yes. You are welcome to bring whoever you feel should be present. If you're considering whether to bring a child, we're happy to talk through how to prepare them and what to expect.

How long does the process take?

The procedure itself takes only a few minutes. We encourage you to arrive without a tight schedule so you have time to settle in beforehand and time to grieve afterward. We will never rush you out.

What are my options for my pet's remains?

We coordinate both private cremation—where your pet is cremated individually and ashes are returned to you—and communal cremation. We'll explain both options clearly and help you choose based on your wishes.

What if I can't afford euthanasia right now?
